August 17: J&K Bank Vice-
President (insurance), Mr. M A Kawoosa,
today handed over a cheque of Rs.
2,35,583 (Rupees Two lac thirty five
thousand five hundred and eighty three)
to the widow of one Mr. Abdul Rashid
Bhat at the Bank’s Corporate
Headquarters.
Mr. Abdul Rashid Bhat, a resident of
Harwan, had got himself insured with
MetLife India in the month of February
this year through New Theed branch of
the bank. Unfortunately he was killed in
a road accident after a few months of
the insurance cover.
The deceased had insured himself for the
assured sum of Rs. 1.15 lacs with
accidental insurance cover for the same
amount against the payment of a premium
instalment of Rs. 5583.
“The bank took all the pains to complete
the formalities which were required for
smooth settlement of the insurance
claim,” said the widow of the deceased
while receiving the cheque. It is worth
mentioning that J&K Bank is offering
insurance products, both life and
non-life, to its customers across its
network of 544 branches. In life
insurance, the Bank is the partner and
corporate agent of MetLife India, while
as it distributes non-life products of
Bajaj Allianz through its branches
